DALLAS COUNTY SCOFFLAW

DALLAS COUNTY SCOFFLAW

We are receiving more and more inquiries from individuals who not only have outstanding traffic citations / warrants which prevent them from renewing their driver’s licenses, but who also have vehicles that have been SCOFFLAWED, i.e., the vehicle cannot be registered.

The Texas Scofflaw Program is a section of the Texas Transportation Code that allows for registration of a vehicle to be blocked. The Department of Motor Vehicles can SCOFFLAW a vehicle which means the DMV can refuse to register a vehicle if the owner of that vehicle owes money for a fine.

No payment plan or extension is granted. Paying the fine in full is the only way to have the SCOFFLAW removed.

HOWEVER

DO NOT TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO GO TO COURT AND PAY THE TRAFFIC TICKET FINE OUTRIGHT. Depending on the offense, a judgement of guilty could be entered, and your driving record would then reflect a conviction for this offense. Too many points on your driving records could result in the suspension of your driver’s license.

Call our office to handle your case. We will work to have the SCOFFLAW removed, to have your fines reduced, and to have your driving record remain clear of the offense.
