FAILURE TO APPEAR PROGRAM – DPS/OMNI HOLDS

Under the Failure to Appear Program, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) may place a hold your driver’s license and deny renewal if you have allowed a traffic ticket citation to go into warrant status or you have failed to satisfy a judgment to pay a fine for a traffic ticket. If renewal of your driver’s license has been denied, you are prohibited from operating a motor vehicle on any public street/highway in Texas. Such a violation constitutes a misdemeanor. If a DPS/OMNI hold has been placed on your driver’s license, you must resolve the outstanding violation/s before you can renew your license.

The DPS/OMNI hold/s on your driver’s license will not be lifted until DPS receives authorization from each reporting court. It takes three to five business days to update your driving record once DPS receives this authorization. All DPS/OMNI holds must be lifted before your driving record reflects that you are in compliance. You are eligible to drive again and/or renew your driver’s license as soon as you are in compliance.

HOWEVER

DO NOT TAKE IT UPON YOURSELF TO GO TO COURT AND PAY THE TRAFFIC TICKET FINE OUTRIGHT. Depending on the offense, a judgement of guilty could be entered, and your driving record would then reflect this offense. Too many points on your driving records could result in the suspension of your driver’s license.

Call Traffic Ticket Dallas to handle your case/s. Traffic Ticket Dallas will fight to have your fees reduced, to have the DPS/OMNI holds lifted and to keep your driving record clear.
